Guelph, Cambridge & K-W Area Summer Festivals - 2019

Summer is officially here, folks!

 

The weather has finally leveled off and we can now count on more hot and sunny days then cold and rainy ones. That means that plenty of festivals, camps, and other events are just around the corner in the Guelph, Cambridge, and Kitchener-Waterloo area to enjoy!

 

To make things just a little easier, we've compiled a list of some must-see, must-attend events coming up in the local area this summer that is fun for the whole family!

 

Hillside Festival 2019 - Guelph Lake Conservation Area (Guelph, ON)

July 12-14

 

The annual Hillside Festival returns for another year at Guelph Lake this July! Highlighted by continuous musical performances from over 50 artists over the three day event, the festival also includes several workshops, including some for children, yoga, crafts, dancing, art, and more. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online here.

 

Cambridge Scottish Festival - 200 Christopher Drive (Cambridge, ON)

July 19-20

 

The Cambridge Scottish Festival brings the pride of Scotland to Cambridge for the weekend! A volunteer-run event, the festival includes more than 25 pipe bands, over 250 dancers, and more than 40 vendors. Attractions such as a dance competition, tug of war, clan tents, scotch tasting, antique cars, and a beer garden are also included.

 

 

1st Annual K-W Gluten-Free Fest - Breslau Community Centre (Breslau, ON)

September 15

 

If you are gluten-free or want to experience some new tastes, the first-ever K-W Gluten-Free Fest should certainly be on your summer bucket list. More than 25 vendors will be on hand to offer their finest foods, ranging from bakeries to restaurants to retailers.

 

Comedy at the Saw - The Chainsaw (Kitchener, ON)

July 20

 

Like to laugh? Of course you do! A full-day comedy festival is coming to Kitchener! Comedy at the Saw includes comedy acts from local improvs and stand-up comics, as well as musical acts. Food trucks and entertainment for children are also on hand, and all proceeds go straight to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.

 

The Pirate Festival - Marden Park (Guelph, ON)

Aug 3-5

 

Grab your eye patches and swords, The Pirate Festival is in Guelph! Formerly known as the Milton Pirate Festival, its new location in Guelph provides fun for the whole family over a weekend of activities. Entertainers, bouncy ships, play performances, games, and many other activities will keep you and your family entertained all weekend long!
