In this installment, we highlight the University of Guelph - one of Canada's top universities.

University of Guelph
Location: 50 Stone Rd E, Guelph, ON N1G 2W1 (See Map)
The University of Guelph - or "U of G" as it is well-known as - opened in 1964 that currently has over 32,000 students across all campuses and student-types. More than 24,000 students learn at the Guelph campus alone with more than 800 faculty.
Per their website, the university has 173,000 alumni and counting, living in 160 countries around the globe.
The university is located just south of Downtown Guelph and covers more than 1,000 acres, including the Arboretum. It also has two satellite campuses - one in Toronto, Ontario known as the University of Guelph-Humber and one in Ridgetown, Ontario, known as the Ridgetown Campus.
The U of G is also well-represented when it comes to sports. Its team, the Gryphons, participate in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) in a multitude of sports. Some of the sports included are: hockey, football, lacrosse, swimming, basketball, soccer, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling.
Overall, the institute offers 148 types of education programs; 94 undergraduate, 48 graduate, and 6 associate degrees. It has 7 Colleges within it: Arts, Biological Science, Business & Economics, Physical & Engineering Sciences, Social & Applied Human Sciences, Ontario Agricultural, and Ontario Veterinary.
The University of Guelph is one of the most recognized universities in the entire world for its veterinary program, ranking 7th in the world and just 1 of 3 Canadian Institutes to make the list in a 2018 University Ranking for Veterinary Science.
FAST FACT: Last year, the U of G ranked 4th in Maclean's University Rankings 2018 in the Comprehensive category. Needless to say, Guelph's university is renowned worldwide and has an above-average reputation.
